Sonia Masocco, LDT, RAP, CH
Sonia Masocco is a professional member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, the Association of Ayurvedic Practitioners of North America as well as a member of the American Herbalist Guild. She taught for 8 years at The Ayurvedic Institute, currently teaches Clinical Herbalism at the University of New Mexico and maintains a private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Ms. Masocco has been involved in complementary and alternative health since 1997 where she also worked in an integrative clinic in Hong Kong. She completed Ayurvedic Studies at The Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM and continued Ayurvedic Studies in Pune, India. Sonia Masocco’s teaching style is dynamic and stimulating. She knows how to make accurate information come alive and be applicable.
Dr. Rucha Kelkar, BAMS, MPT
Dr. Kelker is the director of AyurblissTM-Ayurveda Wellness for Mind, Body and Spiritual Health. She received her graduate degree from University of Pune, India and secured a top rank in all academic years of her Ayurvedic education. She is also a licensed physical therapist and has a master’s degree in physical therapy from California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Kelkar is initiated into Kriya Yoga Meditation, is a Reiki healer and also conducts meditation classes. She is a teacher for leading Ayurveda schools in the United States. She is also a writer for various Ayurvedic magazines and journals and has been a featured presenter at the NAMA Conference on multiple occasions. Dr Rucha practices Ayurveda in the San Mateo, Foster City area of Northern California.
Dr. Sanjay Pisharodi
Sanjay Pisharodi is a holistic health practitioner, specialized in hospice and palliative medicine from Cardiff University (UK) and University of California (USA). He is also qualified in several alternative therapies – Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yoga, Naturopathy, Sujok, Pranic healing, Medical Astrology, thus making the way for the practice of integrated holistic medicine. Dr. Pisharodi recently released an excellent English translation of a first volume of the Ashtanga Hridayam and is a gifted teacher.
Patricia Layton, CAS: Ayurveda Education
Patricia Layton has been training Ayurveda educators and practitioners for the past fourteen years. She was introduced to Ayurveda in 1975 by her spiritual mentor and has spent her adult life studying and integrating the practices of Yoga and Ayurveda into her life. She graduated from the California College of Ayurveda in 1997 as a Certified Ayurvedic Specialist and Panchakarma Technician, and went on to complete a Panchakarma training course in India with the International Academy of Ayurved. She has a B.S. in Natural Science from the University of Pittsburgh, and she also earned a master’s degree in Integral Health Studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where her thesis was an epistemological study on how American students learn Ayurveda. While living in San Francisco she owned and operated Yerba Buena Ayurveda, a full-service Ayurvedic clinic. She also taught extensively in the Bay Area, including four years as adjunct professor at San Francisco State University; two years adjunct at the California Institute of Integral Studies; thirteen years core faculty in the Iyengar Yoga Institute’s Yoga Teacher Training Program; five years core faculty at the California College of Ayurveda; and co-founded her own Ayurveda School in La Grange, Illinois from 2009-2013. She taught Year One and Year Two practitioner programs at Kanyakumari Ayurveda. Patricia is known for her scholarship, humor, and incredible memory. Her extensive contact over the past 40 years with a variety of high quality teachers of both Yoga and Ayurveda in the US and India has provided her with a wealth of knowledge that she unselfishly passes on.
Myra Lewin, Hale Pule founder and director
Myra Lewin is a NAMA-certified PACE (Professional Ayurvedic Continuing Education) provider and was grandfathered as an ERYT 500 by Yoga Alliance at its inception. Hale Pule provides Yoga Alliance approved 200- and 300-hour trainings and advanced intensives eligible for Yoga Alliance continuing education credits.Building on three decades of teaching and clinical experience, Myra Lewin leads Hale Pule’s trainings and offers individual mentorship geared to move you forward on your path as a teacher and practitioner.
Barbara Stavola is a certified Ayurvedic Health Practitioner, Core Synchronism Practitioner and Instructor, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Natural Therapeutic Specialist. Previously, she was a Clinic Supervisor in the student clinic at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque. Her specialty is in subtle therapies that work with the mind/body connection through all the systems, organs, tissues, and elements. She has a private practice in Albuquerque. With many years of client experience, she employs pulse assessment in empowering a client’s healthcare through a self-care life plan. Barbara’s personal health journey transformed her life in such an amazing way that it inspired her to assist others in the adventure of their health process. She has been blessed to be following this calling for the past 20 years.
Nicole is an Aesthetician, Massage Therapist, Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and the founder of Ajara Ayurvedic Beauty. While working at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM, she became interested in the use of herbs for skin care.
